This new and patented pumping concept uniquely combines the best of
proven technologies creating a new family of slurry handling
pumping systems. Handling fluids contaminated with solids is
generally economical with crankshaft driven diaphragm style pumps.
Highly and extreme viscous slurries are typically handled by
hydraulically operated piston style pumps.
The GEHO® APEXS technology combines the two joining diaphragm
(hose) technology with a hydraulic power pack. This enables
the pump to operate with very large single stroke positive
displacement volumes at low cycle rates and relatively
high pump discharge pressures.
The APEXS system uses two fluid pumping chambers operating in
sequence, each with a hose (diaphragm) inside. These are combined
with a set of non-return valves and a hydraulic power pack to
form the basic pumping system. Fluid is fed inside the hose
from a feeder tank. The power pack supplies pressurized oil flow
around each slurry filled hose (within the hose chamber) to force
the hose to empty in a peristaltic style motion.
By applying an accelerated hose filling sequence and
chamber pre-compression the pump system can operate virtually
pulsation free at the discharge side. The APEXS is a modular
concept which can be sacled to the application requirements.
